Ring 101: Getting Started

Ring 101: Getting Started

Cost: $15 plus Materials

Length of Class: 1.5 Hours

Class Description:

We will be creating 3-5 rings using different gauges of wire. We will discuss tools and how to properly use a ring mandrel to get the correct size ring. The number of rings created depends on how fast the class moves. Some classes only make 3 with others made 5, depends on the rate of learning and if everyone has their own mandrel.  

NOTE: I prefer a  Steel Mandrel which you can get on Amazon over the ones sold at Michaels and Joanns. This way you can hammer on it. If you don't want to order-Michaels has an aluminum one that is better than the plastic ones Joanns sell (They are not 100% round but have a flattened back). Also Hobby Lobby has a smaller ring mandrel (does not make anything over a Size 10 I believe).

Class Description:

In this class, we will create a tree of life pendant from wire and stone chips. Tree of Life pendants are very popular and each one is individual piece of art. From these basics you can create larger ones as window displays.

Class Description:

In this wire class, we will be using the Artistic Wire Coiling Deluxe Econo Winder to create wire coils that can be used as spacers and wire beads. We will then create a memory wire bracelet from them using additional beads.
