Chainmaille 107: Full Persian

Chainmaille 107: Full Persian

Cost: $25 plus Materials

Length of Class: 2 Hours

Chainmaille: AR is critical for this weave. Most rings will work for the first inch or so but after that there is not enough space for the rings.
AR: Tight:4.9
       Best: 5.5-5.6
       Loose: 6.3

Rings that Work:
Michaels 9 mm Jump Rings-very loose but good for learning.
Hobby Lobby 6mm Jump Rings

Class Description:

At a casual glance, the chain looks like a Box Chain, but when you take a good look at it, it is totally different than the box chain with the patterning and actually looks similar to a Byzantine but all smooshed up. I will not lie to you-it is a labor intensive chain and most likely not finish it in class unless you pick a larger ring size than the one suggested. The sample took close to 3-4 hours to complete because you will need breaks for it but it is worth learning. If you flip through books with chainmaille designs you will not normally see designs using Persian because of the labor involved.
